I'm just making things up here, no one asks me anything. But just in case you were thinking about asking...


what's with the s/he, hir, they, thems? I work in academia, which is a traditionally male dominated field. There's a lot of conscious and unconscious bias that exists within that field. I'm figuring out how to use this space as a personal document in a public space. While I'm not going to say anything bad about anyone that I work with, I am going to try and eliminate any biases that may arise from my documentation by using gender-neutral pronouns. Just so like, if I write about someone crying at their desk, you don't automatically assume that it's a girl. Except for me. It is always safe to assume that I am crying somewhere in public.
